Guest Post: Extract: Magic in the Real World: Modern Science and Ancient Magic

Welcome to another guest post on Flavia the Bibliophile: Extract: Magic in the Real World: Modern Science and Ancient Magic by Vanessa Finaughty!

The Wizard of Ends companion, Magic in the Real World, has just been published and is available for free download!

Delve into the world of ancient magic, discover ancient magic books and ‘magical’ plants, and learn about how science is magic. A real-world school of wizardry? Yes, it exists! Healing magic in today’s world and modern attempts to use magic? Yes, those are real too. Is your mind a force to be reckoned with? Yes, it seems so!

Are people who believe in magic nuts, or is there something to it? There is evidence that every one of us has the ability to manipulate the energy all around us (scientifically proven energy), just as a magnet can reshape iron filings – this is what we call magic.

This companion to the Wizard of Ends fantasy adventure series also includes character interviews, a guest article written by the series’ main character, Lashlor Leaflin, insights into the series, its characters and the author, and the first three chapters of Book 1.

Here’s a little something to whet your appetite!

Extract from the Modern Science and Ancient Magic chapter

There is now scientific evidence that there is a direct link between our bodies’ electrical fields and those in the atmosphere. These fields are very similar and, in some animals, it’s even difficult to differentiate the electrical field generated by lightning and their bodies’ own field. It’s theorised that living organisms’ evolution might have actually been influenced by these atmospheric energy fields. So, in theory, if our cells could use the energy in nature, could we not do the same on a conscious level?

According to parapsychologist, electrical engineer and scientist Dean Radin, magic is naturally all around us and every one of us can access it with practice and proper mental focus. Radin classifies magic in three categories: “Mental influence of the physical world, perception of events distant in space or time, and interactions with non-physical entities.”

According to Radin, magic is ‘frontier science’ that can be tested, measured and documented. Coming from someone who worked on the United States Government’s Stargate espionage project, this means something. The Stargate project’s main function involved remote viewing – the ability to ‘see’ in your mind places and events with which you have no physical contact, often from great distances away. Radin has conducted about forty years of experiments, some of which prove that our intentions do indeed have an effect on our reality.

For a detailed explanation of how all this works and the evidence discovered, including for things like precognition, telepathy and remote viewing, you can read Radin’s book, Real Magic: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science, and a Guide to the Secret Power of the Universe. The article Real Magic: The Scientific Evidence for the Reality of Magic is also an excellent read, as is the article Real Magic, which includes an interview with Dr Radin.
