Brother Diaz has been summoned to the Sacred City, where he is certain a commendation and grand holy assignment awaits him. But his new flock is made up of unrepentant murderers, practitioners of ghastly magic, and outright monsters, and the mission he is tasked with will require bloody measures from them all in order to achieve its righteous ends.
Elves lurk at our borders and hunger for our flesh, while greedy princes care for nothing but their own ambitions and comfort. With a hellish journey before him, it’s a good thing Brother Diaz has the devils on his side.
⤖ My Review ⬻
I don’t even know where to begin with how much I loved The Devils! It was different from what I expected but in such a good way! I will sometimes struggle keeping characters apart when it comes to quest books with large groups, but I did not have that issue with The Devils—they were all so distinct and memorable! I’m glad this is a series, because I definitely need more time with these characters!
I also really enjoyed the setting (based in reality but with added magical and paranormal elements). It was a complex world as well as a complex plot, but it was written in a way that was incredibly easy for me to follow! I also didn’t expect the writing to be as hilarious as it was! I burst out laughing so many times! There were also twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Overall, I enjoyed The Devils quite a bit and will absolutely be reading the next book!

An ad for this book keeps popping up on my Facebook and I’ve been debating on whether or not I wanted to read it or not. I might have to go check it out though!
